Conservation of documentary heritage
Understanding materials, reducing risk and guiding each object towards greater stability, legibility and long-term preservation.
Every treatment begins with direct examination of the object and respect for its material history.
BEFORE TREATMENT
To conserve is to make considered choices.
Books, documents, photographs and archival materials bear different traces of use, alterations and vulnerabilities. There is therefore no single solution suitable for every object.
Work begins with a condition assessment, the identification of risk factors and the definition of procedures compatible with both the materials and the object’s intended future use.

Activities are defined case by case according to the nature of the object, its condition and the institutional context.
